Mentoring
At TES we will provide a space for teachers and students to interact virtually with professionals and students in the STREaM fields. Interactions will be through:
- Video conferencing
- Instant messaging, etc.
Mentoring changes lives. Statistics show that a young person who meets with a mentor is:
- 52% less likely to skip school
- 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
- 33% less likely to engage in a fight
- 27% less likely to begin drinking alcohol
As an example, the governor of Florida Jeb Bush has provided $14 million this fiscal year alone for mentoring program development and training among the many mentoring partners statewide.
